Day 16 - CampSolver

Sprint!
Today was dedicated to a deep dive into an idea we coined "CampSolver". This platform aims to simplify the process for families seeking the right summer camp for their children, a task that is currently manual and cumbersome. Over the past few days, I've been immersing reading "Sprint: How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas", which outlines the framework used by Google Ventures to quickly progress from problem, to prototype, to tested solution. While typically a five-day workshop, we're aiming to condense it into two days. It's ambitious, but we're making the most of the time we have.
Addressing Key Questions
We began by aligning on the main goal of the sprint. Eventually, we settled on Goal: Parents can find the perfect camp online. Simple enough. Next, we defined the key metrics to track progress toward the goal and outlined the questions that need answering along the way.
Mapping the Flow
With the underlying questions addressed, we moved on to mapping out the flow. Who are our primary customer groups? How do they discover the platform, and how do they navigate through it to find the perfect camp? We created a map illustrating the main flow and selected our focus area: web-first parents facilitating matches between their children and potential camps.
Ready, Set, Draw!
Next up was translating our ideas onto paper. We kicked things off by discussing existing solutions that could provide inspiration. Then, we each sketched out our individual ideas, which served as input for a final design proposal.
Up Next: Prototyping
We covered a lot of ground today, but we're slightly behind schedule. Tomorrow, we'll be building and testing a prototype. Exciting times ahead!
