Day 18 - Focus Thursday

Prototyping

It's Focus Thursday! Finally, a whole day without meetings. I was eager to dive into some productive work today. Since we finalized the overall design of CampSolver yesterday, I decided it was time to translate that design into something interactive. Typically, I'd opt for coding, but I've found that it often diverts attention from the crucial aspects. Building an entire platform in one day is ambitious even for me. So, I opted for Figma, a tool used by designers I've collaborated with. Admittedly, I might have been a bit overly optimistic about its learning curve, but by the end of the day, I had a few screens ready for potential users to click through. Surprisingly, the most challenging aspect turned out to be writing believable text for the pages. In the evening, I had to concede and prioritize time-saving over crafting perfect text. There's still some work left to do.

Case Competition

Next week marks the last case competition, this time in collaboration with Lunar. Today was the deadline to sign up with a team, so I found myself in a rush to find a group. Given my familiarity with Lunar from the outset and having friends working there, I thought joining the competition would be both enjoyable and beneficial. Fortunately, I managed to find two others also in search of a team. Lunar, here we come!

Thursday Bar

Finally, in the evening, there was a Thursday bar organized by BLOX. It provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with startups from previous cohorts and get some valuable tips and tricks. While it was challenging to discern everyone's companies, I was fortunate to encounter a few veterans. They offered a wide range of advice e.g. having consistent attendance or showing personal growth where ever possible. It will make it easier for them to justify an investment.

Drinks

I'll spend a bit more time refining the prototype before calling it a night. See you tomorrow!
