Day 32 - Networking

Cover Image for Day 32 - Networking

Focus Thursday

Today, my calendar was surprisingly empty. There were no Antler-organized meetings scheduled at all, only a follow-up meeting with Ørsted, which we were invited to after winning their hackathon. The plan was to finally dive into writing some code for the prototype we agreed upon yesterday. I set up my workspace in the office, ready to get coding. However, sitting in an open office, I rarely had more than 20 minutes of uninterrupted work time. Consequently, I did not get as much done today as I had hoped. On a positive note, I was finally approved as an eBay developer, which means I now have direct access to their API. Progress!

Fast Track

In the evening, I bumped into Huram from Relume. They joined as an accelerated case, working on developing a DNA-based immunotherapy for rare eye melanomas. They received a green flag! As far as I know, they're the first team to be invited to pitch to the investment committee. I'm eager to learn more about their experience pitching to Antler and their advisors.

Networking Event

Later in the evening, I attended an event on Generative AI in Life Science at Symbion. It was a refreshing change to engage in networking outside of the Antler program. It was interesting to see the possibilities and challenges of AI in a biotech context, although sometimes it got a bit too technical for non-specialists like me.

Presentations

Just before the event began, I spotted a table where attendees were playing Factorio! I just had to join the table and I was able to impress them with my 100% completion of the game. Who knew my gaming experience could aid in networking in Copenhagen? They even invited me to join their server.

Gaming

Overall, it was an intriguing and refreshing event. While I didn't accomplish as much work as I had hoped today, I still consider it a successful day. Now, it's time to get some well-deserved rest.
