Day 36 - Doubling Down

Pitch Training

We kicked off the day with a three-hour workshop on crafting and delivering the perfect pitch. I appreciated the approach; we began by defining our unique value proposition, anchoring our pitch around it. Using the SPIN framework: Situation, Problem, Implication, Need -followed by Proposal, People, and Process, streamlined the process, enabling us to deliver a clear pitch. While the last part felt somewhat added to the framework to cater to pitching investors, it provided a solid structure for swiftly and clearly conveying our idea.

Advisors

We had two meetings today - one with an advisor and another with a fellow Antler who has experience working in the industry we are targeting. Talking to someone familiar with a company that has tackled similar challenges proved immensely valuable. The insights gained will undoubtedly shape our company's direction. While the meeting with the advisor was beneficial, it remained more generalized. Given the time constraint of 30-minute sessions, delving into the specific challenges is challenging. Hopefully, future sessions will allow us to focus more sharply on the tasks at hand.

Building a Unicorn

The remainder of the day was dedicated to discussing our company. Once the overarching vision is agreed upon, numerous paths lead to its realization, each fundamentally distinct. While the temptation to build a complex solution to address all inputs is strong, simplicity remains key to success. Crafting a plan is daunting when all variables are still in flux. Tomorrow, we've booked a room to brainstorm, breaking down our ideas into an actionable plan. Our aim? To secure the green light at the next pre-IC!
