Day 37 - Mapping It Out

Abstract to Concrete
A day without meetings? Amazing. We seized the opportunity to align our vision and outline the steps to achieve it. We mapped out various paths and agreed on the best route to the next pre-IC, just two weeks away. We're aiming for a green light this time, so every moment is precious. My task is to work on the prototype with the agreed-upon features, while Kendal focuses on getting sign-ups. Simultaneously, we must complete all other slides regarding go-to-market strategies, competitors, etc. And amidst all this, maintaining frequent communication to ensure we're heading in the same direction. Time to roll up our sleeves and get to work!
Pricing
Determining a reliable pricing for the listings is a challenge. Ideally, we'd have data for all items, but for a startup like ours, that's unrealistic. The next best approach is to gather prices on demand from various sources and calculate an average. However, obtaining prices from different sources proved to be difficult too. While I've integrated with the eBay API, we wanted to explore other sources for a more comprehensive view. Unfortunately, other marketplaces are even more closed off. I had hoped to utilize Google Shopping, but they don't offer an API - a logical move considering their revenue model relies on ads. There are scraper-based companies available, but they seem unreliable and costly. For now, I'll maximize what I can extract from the eBay API and reassess as needed. I hope I can show an updated version of the eBay based pricing page soon.
