Day 43 - New Look

Delving into Code

A day free from meetings - a coder's dream. I had been looking forward to this opportunity to translate our paper sketches into functioning elements on a website. However, my excitement soon turned into frustration as I encountered a roadblock early on. After reorganizing some files and tweaking the default setup, my code refused to compile - a common problem when starting on a new project with a new framework. While I'm well-versed in React, my familiarity with Next.js is still limited. Starting from scratch meant delving into the documentation, which, though comprehensive, couldn't spare me from dealing some cryptic error messages. It took several hours to troubleshoot and regain momentum, leaving me unable to recover the lost time today. I'm hopeful that I will be able to complete the website tomorrow; we urgently need it to engage potential users, and every day's delay comes at a cost.

On a brighter note, I've set up my workstation for the upcoming week. It may not be extravagant, but it has everything I need. With no interruptions in sight, I anticipate the days ahead to be highly productive. Time to recharge for tomorrow.
