Day 55 - Walking

Strong Mind in a Strong Body

Last year, a good friend of mine challenged me to run a half marathon this year. Considering I've never run more than 10k before, this is quite the challenge. I stumbled upon an event on Facebook some time ago: Gå Amager Rundt: 1/2 marathon, the perfect opportunity to try the distance. So, I got up early this morning and started walking around 8 AM. Luckily, I ran into a friend at the event, and we walked together for about half of the distance. This walk was also a great opportunity to explore the outskirts of Copenhagen, an area I hadn't had the opportunity to visit yet.

A Good Friend

I must say, I was surprised by the beautiful nature so close to the capital. I walked through forests, along beaches, and across fields. The weather was perfect, mildly cloudy with temperatures around 15°C. Although the paths in the forests were still muddy from recent rain, making for messy shoes and pants, the sunshine and natural surroundings kept spirits high.

Nature

I completed the run in about 5 hours, much slower than my intended pace, but it served as a low-stakes trial. Navigating through the forests took extra time as we searched for walkable paths, often ending up with wet feet anyway.

Reaching the Goal

Desktop PC

Yesterday at work, I borrowed a computer screen. With my laptop broken, I've had to find alternative ways to stay productive. I've had my desktop PC in my room since moving, but without a screen, it hasn't been of much use. Now, with the borrowed screen, I can finally put it to work. Ideally, I prefer working from the office, so I hope the backup laptop my dad sent arrives soon and proves sufficient. But for now, it's reassuring to have a fallback plan in place.
