Day 66 - Networking Day

Green Light

Today we got early feedback on our pitch, fortunately, most teams have to wait until tomorrow. We received a green light! This means we'll be presenting to the official Investment Committee in two weeks, on Friday, May 3rd. Yes!! While we were hopeful for a green light, certainty is never guaranteed. It's truly gratifying to see them recognize our hard work and believe in us and our vision. However, it feels like just one step on a long journey. The real test awaits us in front of the investors in two weeks, and there's still much work to be done. Most of the feedback we received was positive, but they did highlight two areas for improvement: increasing sign-ups on our waitlist and showcasing another marketplace integration. Perfect, we can easily divide these responsibilities between Kendal and me, once again demonstrating our commitment to taking feedback seriously and acting on it.

Networking

The remainder of the day was filled with networking events. It began with the Google Startup Day Copenhagen at Google's office, the same place where we won the hackathon a few days ago. It was amusing to be greeted as "the winners"; let's see how long it takes to earn a similar recognition for our startup as a whole. The program was packed with Google showcasing its offerings for startups. Especially the AI specialization bonus they offer, where a VC-backed startup can receive up to $250,000 in free credits. That would certainly come in handy, though I doubt we'll need anywhere near that amount. They also invited some investors to present their funds and investment profiles. Kendal wasted no time in approaching them as soon as the show was over. I had a few chats with other participants, securing a few sign-ups for our waitlist before heading off to the next event.

Google Dev Day

Another event held today was Copenhagen Townhall, the triennial event for all startups in Copenhagen. They had invited Monta to present how they went from nothing to a multi-million dollar business in just three years, followed by a fireside chat about the current startup landscape and legislation around it. Interestingly, they kept these two sessions within a one-hour timeframe to allow more time for mingling among founders. A cool concept. I was fortunate to spot some of my friends from the Aarhus startup community, so we had a chat before I headed home to get some rest.
