Day 72 - Working

Gathering the Team

With Kendal back from Spain, the day started with a team session to review the progress made over the past few days. Kendal shared her work on refining our pitch and key focus areas for the upcoming days. We also discussed strategies for kickstarting our marketing efforts to capitalize on the initial traction. Riccardo showcased the UI enhancements he's been working on and we outlined priorities for the upcoming IC presentation. Our primary focus will be updating the videos to highlight the UI flow effectively. I presented the progress on the browser extension, demonstrating its functionality directly in production. While we've made significant headway, there's still much to accomplish with only a few days remaining before the IC, so it is time to get back to work.

Polishing the Extension

Today, my aim was to wrap up work on the extension temporarily, allowing me to continue to work on the pitch. Currently, the extension functions but completely takes control over the browser, preventing me from accessing DBA while it's active. This limitation makes testing and working a hassle. Hence, I prioritized resolving this issue along with limiting its permissions to access only necessary data. I was able to address these shortcomings before moving on to the remaining meetings for today.

ESG Discussion

We met with our advisors today to discuss the potential environmental impact of our platform. The platform has a dual effect: firstly, it simplifies the process of selling items, thereby promoting reuse and recycling over disposal. Secondly, by showcasing the value of existing possessions, we encourage users to invest in items with lasting value that can be resold. While the feedback was positive, our advisors suggested emphasizing the first value proposition, as it's easier to grasp and quantify. However, they stressed the importance of providing evidence that users are more inclined to sell items through our platform. Another item on our agenda that requires attention.

Partnership Exploration

In the evening, we had a call with a potential partner to explore partnership opportunities. The idea was to leverage their cross-listing technology, saving us time and effort in implementation. In return, they would gain access to our user base, expanding their reach. Although we didn't reach a conclusion during the call, we're keen to delve deeper into the possibilities after the IC.
