Day 79 - Getting Ready

Tuning the Pitch Deck
Today was dedicated to polishing our pitch deck. We did not know when the investment committee would review our slides, so having a polished version online was important. While the overall structure and content had been in place for days, the devil lay in the details. Especially our messaging regarding our environmental impact consumed much of today's time. We wanted to acknowledgment our positive influence - encouraging more people to resell items rather than discarding them - without overpromising. We believe that financial gain is the primary motivator for most potential users and that the positive impact is more a consequence thereof. Additionally, I got feedback that my technical slides were overly detailed and therefore confusing. I plan to revise them tomorrow, since we ran out of time today.
Grilling the CTO
Around noon, I had a great session with Kristian, the CTO of one of our cohort's other companies. The purpose was to present our technical slides and receive feedback on our approach, both at a high level and in detail. While my team members are good at evaluating the clarity of my slides, they lack the technical expertise to challenge my approach effectively. This session filled that gap, providing valuable pressure testing. Surprisingly, Kristian expressed less concern about our tech than I had anticipated. He liked my approach and offered suggestions for simplification and improvement in a few areas. It was a reassuring validation. This reminded me of the importance of such sessions until we establish our own tech team, enabling internal brainstorming and idea exchange.
